What is FIFO prioritization?

When power is limited, site operators want full control over how power is allocated across chargers. FIFO prioritization ensures that the vehicle that plugged in first gets priority access to available power, and is the first to finish charging. This creates a predictable, fair system that operators and drivers can rely on.

We originally developed FIFO prioritization through close collaboration with our transit partners. But as we rolled out the feature, we started hearing from customers in other segments who saw applications far beyond transit.

Use cases beyond fleet

Valet parking: FIFO prioritization helps make valet charging operations more predictable, and ensures the car is fully charged by pickup time.

Vehicle dealerships: FIFO means the first vehicle plugged in finishes first — creating a natural queue that staff can manage without constant manual intervention.

Airport parking: FIFO ensures that vehicles plugged in first get charged first, freeing up charger access for later arrivals.

Rental car companies: FIFO ensures at least one vehicle finishes first, opening up a spot for the next vehicle and getting revenue-generating vehicles back on the road faster.

Multifamily properties: FIFO creates a fair, first-come-first-served system that avoids disputes between neighbors and ensures everyone gets their turn without property management needing to intervene.
